Pallavi, meaning “blossoming,” is a pure dance piece that celebrates both movement and melody. It is an artistic elaboration—an unfolding of the dance and the music in perfect harmony. Here, Guru Shradha students present Saveri Pallavi at our Annual Informal Program.
Raaga: Saveri
Taala: Ekatali
Choreography: Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra
Music Composition: Pandit Bhubaneswar Mishra
Dancers: Bhuvana, Subarna, Rachana
Guru Brahma is a prayer in praise of Guru representing the Hindu Trinity Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva in creating, sustaining knowledge and destroying the weeds of ignorance.
Guru Shradha students presented Guru Brahma Mangalacharan at our Annual Informal Program. Mangalacharan is typically performed to mark the beginning of an Odissi reportoire, involving salutations to Mother Earth, a central prayer (in this item, Guru Brahma), and concluding with a Sabha Pranam offering prayers to the Gods, Guru, and audience.
Raga: Ragamalika
Tala: Adi Tala
Choreography: Guru Ratikant Mohapatra
Music Composer: Oothukkadu Venkat Subbaier
Dancers: Smita, Anu, Namita, Sneha, Sonia, Ananya, Subarna, Rachana, Avika, Sumedha, Annika

Spring’s arrival—a time of hope, joy, color, and merriment—is a traditional cornerstone of Indian poetry and dance, but its vibrant emotions are known worldwide. This universal feeling fuels the core theme of “Oneness - The Blossoming”: celebrating our shared human connection through the season of renewal. This unique production is the result of a powerful collaboration featuring seven Indian classical dance exponents - Mousumi Bose, Madhuri Kishore, Deepa Mahadevan, Niharika Mohanty, Chandreyee Mukherjee, Bindu Pratap, and Anupama Srivastava - masters of six diverse traditional styles: Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Mohiniattam, and Odissi, alongside their companies forming a stunning ensemble.
Presented by Yuva Bharati.

Starting off our Informal Program recap, we’d like to highlight our adorable pre-training group! They performed “Poush Toder Daak Diyeche”, choreographed by our very own Kanika Mitra Bhattacharya. This song by Rabindranath Tagore celebrates the harvest season and is an invitation to leave behind indoor isolation and join the festivities happening outdoors, as nature’s bounty is to be enjoyed by all.
Performers: Rishma, Reva, Keya, Advita, Shloka
